What the program is:

Between Generations is a new program launced by a partnership of Big Brothers Big Sisters and Envision Financial that is designed just for adults in British Columbia who are 55 and over.

By connecting children with caring adults, the goal of both organizations is to support a generation of young people who are resilient and feel connected to adults as they journey to adulthood.

How the program works:

- Adults aged 55 and over are matched with children in Langley elementary schools

- No special skills are required, just a desire to be a friend to a child for up to one hour per week during the school year

- There is no fee involved and the visists take place at the school

- Adults are provided with activity boxes and ideas to make each visit fun and beneficial

- Big brothers Big Sisters' mentoring coordinators and school staff are available to support the volunteers

- One hour per week means a child has a friend for life
