The Teen Mentoring Program is a mentoring opportunity for youth primarily in Grades 10 through 12 who are matched with elementary school children in Grades 4 to 7. They are special friends for the school year and visit them at the elementary school for one hour each week. That hour is spent having fun, playing games or sports, doing arts or crafts or just hanging out in the playground.
We are proud of our program which was piloted at the Walnut Grove Secondary School and James Kennedy Elementary School. Currently the program is offered at these two schools and we are very grateful for the funding assistance from Coast Capital Savings Foundation and Langley Rotary.
"It's cool to get involved and feel like you're a positive role model in your community"
Ryan, Teen Mentor
